Hello - Tamric Acres now has a new website (a work in progress) located at www.tamricacres.com
The following information will remain up for some time while we update our new website.
Thank you for your patience!
Spring is here and so are the KIDS!
We are having a tremendous doe year so far, with 22 doelings and 14 bucklings born. We have some very promising looking boer/nubian crosses as well as some boer/lamancha crosses and of course, the purebred and recorded grade lamanchas.
Tamric Acres moved to Arden, Manitoba in the fall of 2008
This move will enable us to increase the herd, with more barn space and plenty of hayland. We will continue to focus on Lamanchas, both purebred and recorded grades but are also purchasing some purebred alpine does and a commercial boer buck/nubian in hopes of maintaining a herd of large bodied does with tons of milk.
We started out with a small herd of mixed goats in 2000 that consisted of boer and nubian crosses, as well as a few alpines. Over the years we have evolved into mostly dairy goats, keeping only animals that exhibit excellent mothering skills and milk production as well as being calm and easy to work with. Lamanchas seem to have all these characteristics including splashy coloring, which is a wonderful bonus during kidding season. We currently have purebred and recorded grade lamanchas, as well as a small commercial herd of mixed breeds including nubian, alpine and lamancha.
